There are some things in this house that must be respected. The art of eating seeds during baseball games is one of those things you don't mess with. Dale taught the kids there is a right way to open the bags.
This is the right way to open a bag. You make a small tear at the corner of the bag. This allows you to pour a small amount into your hand to be transferred into the mouth. If you make it too big then seeds spill all over.
While playing baseball you must always have chipmunk cheeks filled with seeds. If you leave an open bag in sight of any players you forfeit the right to them. They become team property.
A full cheek of seeds also allows you to have something to do during a very slow baseball game. It is an art form to suck, crack and spit the seeds without any hands involved.
Sometimes you have to take a break from the seeds to make faces at the camera. Once again, what is one to do during a very slow game.
Sometimes seeds become a form of enforcing good behavior. If you are found tickling you mother with a piece of grass, your father may be forced to spit some seed shells at you. Notice this is all done while she also has a seed in her mouth.
Sometimes you are forced to take cover so no more seeds end up in your hair.

I like the many uses of the seeds! Not only are they good, they are good for you! And so entertaining when it comes to enforcing the no-tickling-mom rule that I didn't know about.
