Labor Day was the kids last day of summer vacation before the new school year started. We decided to have a picnic at the local ball field/elementary school. We had the perfect weather for a picnic. It was in the mid 70s and gorgeous.
Tether ball brings me back to the good ole grade school days.
It may have gotten slightly competitive!
Elaine is such a great big sister. Jared informed me that when she goes to college, he wants to go with her.

The kids all had a good time launching the rockets. They each got their turn.
Some of the kids liked to race to see who could catch them. I know it may seem shocking that they were able to turn it into something competitive.
And we have lift off.
When we put the bigger engines in them they got slightly harder to see.

The bigger engines sent Dale across the busy street to catch/find them. He got his work out. For the last one Mark volunteered to go catch it. Of course by then we had adjusted the launcher enough that Mark only had to run to the elementary playground. (I think he had that planned.)
