A couple weeks ago we had a visit from a very good family friend. Mike served his mission here. We were his last area before he went home. He was here for 5 months. Dale was the first ward member he met, Dale had helped with the transfer and so he brought him from the mission home to the new ward. They hit it off immediately. Dale even had them over for dinner several times while I was in New Zealand. I heard about this great elder when I got home. Dale made some nachos while I was gone. He also made some great concoction with jalapanos and onions. Dale was the last one to serve and eat. His first bite he said this is horrible. Mike had been choking it down like a good little missionary. We love to laugh about that.
While he was here they had a referral from Temple Square. A couple had come to see it. Kathy loved the feeling they had while there. So they went over to talk with the couple. Later that day they came over and said they found a great couple. Well that great couple got baptized a couple months later. We were lucky enough to take them down to a Mission Presidents fireside. They are an amazing family. John reminds me a lot of my dad.
Two weekends ago this couple went through the temple for the first time. Mike flew out and stayed with our family and surprised John and Kathy with an unannounced visit. It was a wonderful weekend. We loved having Mike visit and had a hard time saying goodbye.
While here Mike really wanted to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. Due to a busy day we didn't even make it to the restaurant until 7:30, seated and eating by 8:15. We didn't know it but we showed up on PF something something fight night. Whoo Wee!!!
This is the kind of picture you get when you hand over your phone to your daughter.
Jared was tired and hungry. Not a good mix with him nor a good time trying to get him to smile for a picture.
Mike has been a great friend for Elaine. He makes a good big brother. In fact we call him our son. Some people at church, our wards were just realigned, thought he was just part of the family.
Look at that cute couple. They look so young and carefree.
Ok mom, now you can take my picture.
The family shot.
Jared was insistent that I take his picture with Mike before he leaves.
And another picture.
