A couple weeks ago we actually got a bit of snow. This year has been a very mild winter. The kids were joking around the night before saying it would be cool if there was a snow day. We reminded them in the 6 years we have lived here we have only had 1 snow day. Well, mother nature was rooting for them. We got a night of rain topped off with about 10 inches of snow. The roads were nothing but ice under the snow. Dale said the crazy people on the roads were going 20 mph. Much to the delight of the kids, school was cancelled. The shrieking in the house was comparable to Christmas morning. I take that back, it was much wilder. The boys spent most of the day out in the snow.
They decided to build a snowman.
It was Mark's "design".
Interesting phenomena, every time I tell the child to look at me he does it with his tongue sticking out.
Building a snowman is hard work. One must often take breaks and lay in the snow and eat it.
One casualty of the snowman was a broken snow shovel. Jared made sure I got a picture of it.
Yes, that is my crazy daughter out in bare feet. I've come to realize she is meant to live a life on the beach (with me of course).
The snow man isn't finished yet, but when measured it was just over 14 feet tall. I'd say they burnt a few calories that day.
Elaine offered to help Joe make a cake for the cub scout Blue and Gold banquet. They did fondant frosting. It was quite a process. Of course that would once again be my crazy 5 year old making faces in the fore ground.
Joe, Elaine and their finished project. Just in time to run out the door.
Dale's birthday is just a bit different than others in our house. He loves to give gifts to all of us for his birthday.
The kids all have fun getting something picked out by dad.
